So, yeah, man, I appreciate you guys. Tuning in. Hit that subscribe button, man, cost you nothing. And listen, that also cost you nothing. You know, just a little bit of time while you're driving to work or while you're cooking something or whatever, while you're just chilling, maybe reading a comic book. You want to hear your boy in the background. Whatever you're doing, man, this is a fun time. This is a fun time. We're trying to continue to put positive vibes in the comic book world and just talk about the things that I love the most and, you know, entertain you guys during that time. So listen real quick. I'm smoking on the up center. This is from Foundation Cigars. It's a really smooth cigar. It's like Jamaican tobacco is inside of this cigar. It's really good. Man, I got my coffee. I'm kind of like afternoonish on a Sunday. I'll probably put this episode out, maybe in the middle of the week, maybe Wednesday, maybe Wednesday while you guys are at the shops and stuff. You can listen to me while you're flipping through the books and things, because when I first started this podcast, I would do episodes where I wouldn't talk about trending topics. I would kind of just talk about things that I wanted to discuss.

Speaker 1:

And one of my favorite, favorite, favorite comic book movies that came out during the quote unquote pandemic era was the Batman. I took my family to go see it. I have two daughters, you know, and a wife, and we all went to go see this two hours and something change movie and they, they loved it. I loved it. But I was more shocked that they loved the movie and I think it's because it had this like realistic vibe to it. So I noticed that it's on Netflix now. We don't have HBO Max anymore, but we just and we just got Netflix back. We've been actually been rocking with Amazon Prime and Peacock Honestly, that's what and the girls they, they enjoyed Disney Plus still, but we've been rocking with those things, those two apps they've and they got a lot of incredible shows on there. A lot of stuff that me and my wife like to watch are on there. But we decided to get Netflix back and I and I found out that the Batman is on there and I'm probably going to go watch it after I get done recording.

Speaker 1:

But I found out the Batman is on there and it just got me thinking while I was making breakfast and things like that. Like you know, the Batman 2 is supposed to come out next year, I believe in October, so 2025 of October, and it just had me thinking that where are they going to go? What's the direction they're going to go in? Like I remember reading some rumors and things like that early on before the shutdown of Hollywood, with the writers and actors. And you know, some of the rumors were clay, phase in hush and honestly that was the last rumors that I had read or even looked up, so I didn't really, I haven't really been paying attention to what is the possible route they're going to take with the Batman 2, so it just got me thinking you know what's what? What do I want to see from the Batman 2? What kind of villains, what I'd like to see in this, and do I think that they're going to bring Robin into the picture? A Robin, don't know, you know which one, a Robin, I mean, we already kind of know that in the DCU, which is the main storyline for DC, they're going to be, there's going to be a Batman movie in there called Batman brave in the bold, and Damien Wayne is supposed to be in that movie, which honestly was was a surprise to me when they when they actually said Damien Wayne was going to be in there. So that means that that Batman is going to be a little bit older than the Robert Pattinson Batman, which is cool.

Speaker 1:

You know, I enjoyed this version of Batman and I'm happy that the Matt Reeves Batman universe is still going to be an existence is just going to be in an else world setting awesome like the Joker, awesome. Keep it separate. The storyline was was really dope. The realistic feel was really dope. So, with that said, I really hope that the Batman stays on the more realistic side of things. I don't want them to put Batman on this more fantasy side of things where you know he's getting taken on like these huge monsters, like Clayface or anything like that. I don't, I don't, I don't want that.

Speaker 1:

I really enjoyed how they had the Riddler, how he was super like scary because he was really. He really felt real like this. This guy could be out there right now, which I'm sure there's, probably is someone out there right now in the world doing some weird creepy shit like the Riddler and the the. The repercussions for Batman were a lot higher and maybe that's why myself and my kids and my wife were all leaning in with this movie. You know, it was just. It just felt like that. So I really want them to kind of stay on that side of the, of the, of the storytelling, keep it more realistic, keep it more relatable, make the, make the fans feel like the stakes are super high, but I would like for them to definitely make this Batman in this movie a little bit more mature, more knowledgeable, bring up his level of being a detective, like improve that more as well. Like I want him to be a little bit more advanced because this, the first movie, was like only like a second year of being the Batman. So you know, now we have this, this movie coming, hopefully he's a little bit more advanced, a little bit more skilled, a little bit more sure of itself in that movie.

Speaker 1:

And we can't forget that there is a Penguin series that's going to be coming out with Colin Farrell on HBO Max where they're going to continue the story that was being told in the Batman movie. And I believe the rumors were when they first announced this that maybe Robert Patton said was going to pop up in this show on HBO Max, but just not as Batman. He was going to pop up in this as more Bruce Wayne. So we'll get to see more of Bruce Wayne in the Penguin, maybe not a whole lot, but almost like how Daredevil popped up in Echo, maybe just for a scene or two and just you know, show that maybe he's getting a little bit more of that playboy-ness on him. Maybe he's doing a more detective work outside of the suit and really getting to know these people and got them a little bit more. So that's what we have to remember.

Speaker 1:

So my first villain that I would like to see, of course, is going to be the Penguin. I mean, it's only the natural progression of things beings that he was. In the first movie he was kind of a low-key character, you know. He did have a lot of well, maybe not a lot of scenes, but he did have some very important scenes and things that could be foreshadowing this battle that him and Batman are going to have in the future. And now he's getting his own series.

Speaker 1:

So we'll see more of that development take place and maybe he's going to decide to go that route of trying to be the mayor of Gotham, you know, continue to build up his rep in the, in the underground crime scene, becoming the big boss and now taking his talents like LeBron, taking his talents to the mayor's office. You know, because he's just gained that much power and that much support from all of these billionaires and millionaires and trillionaires, whatever, and they like what he's doing, they like what he's representing and wanting to keep him in power because it keeps money in their pocket, right, corrupt system, keep building on that stuff that they were doing in the first Batman. But the thing is is that he knows that Batman is in his way, right? I don't know, he doesn't know that Batman is Bruce Wayne, but, you know, maybe he can find out because of somebody he's working with, maybe Hugo Strange. Maybe this could be the perfect opportunity to bring Hugo Strange onto the big screen, have him work with the penguin, because he's so obsessed with Batman, he knows the identity of Batman, he wants to take Batman out, of course, and he has the means of doing it with the way he, kind of like, created some of his henchmen and everything like that. So what if they partnered up to get Batman out of the way so that penguin can take, you know, be in control and have power and got them city and get Batman out of here and his, you know, get, get Bruce Wayne out the way, get the whole Wayne family out of the way, and that way Cobberpots can take over, oswald Cobberpots can take over, and then, you know, just completely, just run, got them into the ground the way he wants to. So, yeah, I think, either a penguin Hugo Strange team up would be really dope. And then the next one that I would like to see would be now, these next two actually are super dark angle front. They're super dark. Now kids could probably go to the the penguin led movie with him being the villain, connor Farrell being the main villain in that movie, with Hugo Strange kind of like assisting him. Kids could probably go to that one. But these next two kids definitely could not go to. The next one will be poison Ivy.

Speaker 1:

Miss Pamela, you know she's a doctor as well and basically I feel like a cool storyline would be somebody that she trusted, like in the comic, somebody that she trusted. You know, try to poison her or try to kill her with some poison and it didn't work and it altered her who she was. She now has control over plants and all that stuff. Now I wouldn't say go go that direction, because that's a little bit more on the fantasy side, but you could make it so that this person that she trusted betrayed her, tried to kill her, get her out the way, and now she has this anger towards men and would like to get rid of all the trash men in Gotham by seducing them and pretty much getting them the hell out of here with you know a poison, poison Ivy, that you know by a kiss or whatever, and maybe they can look all jacked up. And now we have, like this serial killer on the loose that Batman has to try and take down. But the twist would be that obviously nobody knows what she looks like because all of her victims are now dead and cannot testify, or maybe she kind of like keeps her face like covered somehow.

Speaker 1:

But the twist would be wouldn't it be dope if Bruce Wayne now is this playboy guy? He's out in the world and maybe Catwoman is no longer in this movie, maybe she's out the way or something who knows, or you know, we'll get back to Catwoman in a minute, but maybe she's out the way. And now he's kind of falling in love with this Pamela character who is actually the serial killer in Gotham, and now he has to make this tough choice to get her out of here once he finds out who she really is. So I think that that would be really cool. But of course the serial killer aspect is more realistic, probably too much for kids to handle. So I wouldn't suggest having kids in that movie, seeing that movie, the other one. That would probably be way too graphic and they probably would never do this.

Speaker 1:

But Professor Pig, man like this dude is a psycho drug addict who has lost his goddamn mind, and all right. He wants to make the world perfect and by doing that he kind of captures people that he feels are unperfect and he does like extreme surgeries on them to make them perfect, so like if he feels like one arm is shorter than the other, maybe he has an arm that he wants to attach to them. So he does like these extreme surgeries. Sometimes these people are not sedated, they're wide awake and he's just torturing them and just doing all kinds of crazy shit. He's taking some of these people and doing lobotomies to them and turning them into like soulless zombies so that they can kind of do some of his dirty work for him. This guy is completely jacked up and it would be like a horror type of crime story that Batman would have to deal with and get this guy out of here. But as you know, batman does not kill. So it would be a really interesting story to see him walk on that line of trying to keep his morals that he is made for himself and then also trying not to kill the psychopath who continues to kill and torture people throughout Gotham. So that one would be way too dark For kids and probably way too dark for DC, but I would love to see it. I think that that would be something that would be cool For for the fans. I think I would have a good time in there for sure. So, yeah, that that would be one that I would be interested in seeing.

Speaker 1:

And then the last one, and then is actually a group of underground assholes and that would be the court of owls, who, you know, pull the strings of the heroes and the villains and kind of wants to keep Gotham in this corrupt state, you know, this dark world of Gotham wanting to keep it in that way because it works in their benefit. And these guys are like millionaires and politicians and just really grimy people in this underground world of the court of owls. They have assassins called talons, talons and they've They've whooped Batman's ass a few times. So this would be one of those stories where you know it kind of continues that whole corruption thing that was set up in the first Batman movie and it kind of puts Batman on this, on this hunt for whoever is running Gotham and maybe even finds a way to expose family that might have been involved with the court of the court of owls in some way and it really just kind of pulls that his moral compass as well in this story. But it's a big test for Batman. You know the court of owls and their talons because he has a rough time with them and so I would love to see something like that and it kind of keeps it a little bit, not super dark, so this could be something that younger people could go and see. It gives that whole corrupted politics in underground world Like nobody can be trusted, everybody's grimy type of thing. And Batman is trying to clean up Gotham by getting the quarter owls that hail up out the way. So that's really like my main villains that I would love to see in the next Batman.

Speaker 1:

Of course you got Catwoman who's in the first Batman. I mean she could go bad again. I don't see that happening because they had such a big connection in the first movie. They kind of work together. But that's happened a bunch of times in the comic books where they've had this on again, off again. I mean everybody knows the story of the bat and the cat, so, you know, maybe she could go bad, maybe she can go work for Penguin, who knows, just to keep Zoe Kravitz fine self and involved in the Batman. But who knows, maybe maybe she is done and you know, I don't know, I haven't really looked at any rumors, I haven't looked at any castings, I don't know. Hopefully Zoe Kravitz is back and involved in this somehow. But if she's not, it would suck. But it would be a sad day for me because she was looking good in that leather outfit. Man, you know what I'm saying, you look real good. So you know, maybe she could be involved in in some way, but I don't see her being like a main villain.

Speaker 1:

I know a lot of people, like even myself, in the beginning we thought, you know, we're thinking clay face when I was first hearing about rumors. But that would just be too extreme and too Towards the fantasy side. I don't know how they would make him More realistic. I don't know. It would have to be some super dark stuff, because clay face can kind of take the shape of anybody. So you know, it would have to be like some old leather face type of stuff, I don't know, taking people's faces. I don't know, that would just be too much Even for me. So I don't see how they could bring clay facing it is. I know hush was also a big rumor In the beginning, but I'm not really that big of a fan of hush. I don't really really bang with him like that, so I don't. I could care less if he was in this in this next movie.

Speaker 1:

Scarecrow is out was out there as a rumor, but to me the only thing I can see was care crow would be like this you know the doctor, that's just. You know a drug dealer, you know putting people on these crazy Hallucin and hallucinogens and stuff like that. Is that people tripping Like crazy and then you know Batman have to find a way to the save the crazies in Gotham, like I don't know it would be. It would be interesting, I guess, but Not something that I want to see. I would feel like it would be a step down to go with scare crow in that way and plus, we've already seen scare crow and it was the way they used them in the first Christopher Nolan Batman was cool, but the second Christopher Nolan Batman was leaned more into. The realistic side of things to me was it was the best Batman that we've had until the Batman with Matt Matt Reese as the director and and Robert Pattinson as Batman. So yeah, I don't, I don't see that happening.

Speaker 1:

I was a big fan of the freeze coming into this, mr Freeze, because his story is very touching, heartbreaking, sad, with his wife and he has a lot of motivation to want to Fix that situation. But it's the freeze gun for me, man, like how do you make that realistic? I was always saying maybe he can be Injecting people with something to give them paralysis or something I don't know, but that would be hard to do. So I just don't see, I Don't see any room for mr Freeze when it comes to that, that this version and this style of Batman. So the last thing I wanted to touch on before I got out of here Was the whole situation with Robin.

Speaker 1:

Now, if you remember from the first the Batman movie, you know that there was a kid whose parents got killed, like I think they were politicians or something like that, or the dad was a politician, but you know he's an orphan at this point and there's a moment where Batman is looking at him like man. I know exactly how this kid feels, you know, and everybody's, like all that could be Robin, that could be Robin. So maybe that could be Robin or Dick Grayson or a version of Dick Grayson, I don't. I don't even remember the kid's name. I'm gonna watch the movie after this to get his name again. But the only way that can happen, the only way we can get Dick Grayson in this movie, in the next movie, is if they go the penguin route and Continue that story with the crime syndicate or the mob bosses and you know them being a part of the reason why his family was targeted and things like that, like it's the only way in, with the corrupt politicians and something like that, where his parents were killed and now he's motivated and once it's revenge and Bruce takes him under his wing. So that's the only way I can see that happening with Dick Grayson.

Speaker 1:

I don't see how, with the villains that I picked, how we could have a Robin in those movies other than the Penguin one. But I can't see a Robin being in the poison ivy in that way. Or Professor Pig, maybe the quarter vowels there might be a little bit of room in there to develop Batman's sidekick in Robin. But those other two stories, that storylines that I feel that could be cool were. Just they're too deep. There's too much going on with serial killer type stuff, horror type of stuff for us to see a little kid in there. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Speaker 1:

So that's the only way that could happen is if they were in a dude's Dick Grayson and, as the Robin or whoever that kid's name is, I don't remember introduce him as the new Robin because he already has ties involved. Jason Todd I don't see any room for him and where his story is going to go, because we don't know how long this Matt Reeves thing is going to go. We don't know how long it's going to go. So you know, I don't want to see Jason Todd as Robin, I'd rather see him as Red Hood. So I don't know how that would work out.

Speaker 1:

Tim Drake it could happen, because he could be a kid in the city who's? Maybe that kid that was, you know, whose parents died could be Tim Drake. And or for a version of Tim Drake where he discovers the identity of Batman and kind of forces his way into Bruce Wayne's life and becomes the new Robin. But, like I said, that's going to. That would make it like three stories going on at one time in any of those movies, and I don't know if they want to take time to develop that character right now. So I just don't see the room for Robin man. I don't see the room.

Speaker 1:

Only way they could do it, honestly, is with the Penguin storyline and introduce him, maybe, or develop that character a little bit more in the Penguin series on HBO Max, because we already know Bruce Wayne is supposed to make an appearance in that not Batman, but Bruce Wayne. So maybe this kid could be looking to get revenge for his parents death and he's, maybe he's pointing his finger at the Penguin somehow. You know, since the Riddler is gone now, maybe he wants to find a way to clean up these dirty streets of Gotham. Who knows, who knows? So it'll be really tough to do that, but I'm excited about this movie. I'm really looking forward to the Penguin series. Hopefully you guys are as well. And, yeah, we're going to be talking about it for sure. You know, when it comes out and I'm going to be doing reviews for that, for the Penguin series, definitely when that, when that drops, I'm gonna have to get HBO Max again for that, because I'm not, I'm not missing nothing for that one. Not at all, not at all.

Speaker 1:

So once again, man, I appreciate you guys tuning in to the one 100 podcast. Man, I had to get on here and do some Batman talk. It's been a while since I've done my own speculation type of episode, so I wanted to do that. We'll get back to the trending topic stuff next week.
