Speaker 1:

What's going on? Good people, welcome back to the one in 100 podcast. I am your host, amir, aka the black podcaster. Listen, man, I'm glad to be back with another episode. Man, I hope you guys are too Sorry for the delay.

Speaker 1:

Man, things came up and I wasn't able to get on the mic this week. Well, earlier this week, like I usually do, I usually record on Wednesdays, but hey, we're recording Saturday night and I'm gonna try and turn this around real quick and get it back to you guys. But, lucky for you guys, I don't have a lot of trending topics this week. I know we I think we talked about some stuff last week, some trending topics last week, but I didn't really have a lot. It was a slow week. It was a slow week in the news this week, but I did decide that I wanted to talk about my feelings on the comic book industry right now, at this present time. So I wanted to get into that. But before we get into that, I wanted to make sure you guys hit that subscribe button.

Speaker 1:

We are available on all major podcast platforms. You can find the one in 100 podcasts on any of those platforms Apple Podcasts, spotify, I Heart, radio, audible, all of them. We're all on there and, if you also, you can also find links to the newest episodes or find a way to subscribe to the podcast by going to my Instagram page at the blackpockaster with a six, not a B, I have the link tree there and we have all of the available links there for you to be able to follow and subscribe to the podcast. But listen when you subscribe for the podcast, make sure you actually listen. I'm a drop of bomb super early. All right, make sure you actually listen. Man, don't just subscribe to the podcast and not actually listen to it. Like that's kind of corny. You know, I'm saying like I try to listen to all the podcasts that I'm subscribed to at least once a week. You know I have a job where I can kind of have a headphone in my ear and be able to listen to it. So I mean, I'm doing this for you guys. You know, give you guys some entertainment throughout the week, keep you guys up to date on some trending topics and things like that. But you know, so you know, hit that subscribe button, listen and, you know, let me know how you feel about the show. But, with that said, let's get into this topic that I have. I also got some reads of the week this week.

Speaker 1:

I'm pretty sure all of you guys know the book that I'm going to talk about, but let's get into this, this topic that I had about the state of the comic book, the comic book universe, the comic book world, the comic book industry one of my favorite hobbies. So you know, it's been kind of rough for the comic book industry, at least American comics. The stories have become like in the words of a lot of other people these are not my words, but they've become woke, right, meaning that they are doing what they've always done and reflected the world that's outside of our window. You know, but some people feel that it was getting too much. You know that they read comics for escapism. I'm one of those people. I'm one of those people that I read the comics to be able to escape what's going on in the world. Fun fact the reason why I started reading comics other than JT, introducing me to the world of comics, the reason why I started reading them and actually like, really enjoying them, is because of the job that I was doing. I was working in wound care and I'm seeing death every day. You know whether it be the person actually passing away or you know bedswords, things like that like I was seeing a lot of traumatic shit every single day, so like five to six days a week, you know. So comic books have always been my outlet, but there I could admit it. There was it, there is it.

Speaker 1:

There was a time during the collecting at least up until I want to say maybe 20, 22, 23 where comics were starting to feel very redundant. The story lines are starting to feel like everyone was kind of saying the exact same thing, especially in like the big two dealing with the same issues, whether it be gender or whether it be sexuality, whether it be race, you know ethnic background. Like it felt like they were all dealing race swapping and gender swapping. Like it felt like they were all dealing with the same thing and nothing was being original. Now, I'm not one of those guys are gonna sit here and throw numbers at you guys.

Speaker 1:

You should know that if you've been listening to the show over the years, I'm not that guy. I don't really give a damn about numbers. I just give a damn about what the people are saying and how people are feeling and that these you know the comics dealing with these same issues over and over again and a lot of the writers seeming like it was the same writers on different stories, like they were kind of just rotating different writers and giving them a lot of stories to write, burning them out, and just seem like a lot of the stories were repetitive and a lot of people were starting to either get out the game they weren't collecting anymore or they were solely focusing on, like spec books, you know. So they can, you know, get these high, high value books and be able to flip them or just keep them and, you know, for their collection, hopefully hoping that they would gain, you know, you know, a lot of financial growth with some of these books, which I mean is very possible. I'm not that guy. I have, I have my spec books, but you, you know I'm, I'm not one that was was in comics, for that specific reason, I just have the books that I really wanted in my collection.

Speaker 1:

So it it seemed like like people were getting out of the game of collecting, people were only focusing on speculation, people were going over to manga, you know, and going to anime and kind of just like deserting this world, and it was reflecting in the sales, you know, and it just wasn't looking good. It wasn't looking good for comics American comics for for for quite some time. But I feel like we're in a time now where, almost like when the comic book industry crashed, when image comics came out and they were doing all these started doing you know, all of these variant covers and like everything just kind of blew up and the death of Superman and everybody was thinking that they were going to have like the first issue of Superman in their hands when all this stuff started really blowing up and then the the market kind of crashed and had to go through a dark age and kind of reset. So I feel like in my short time of comic, we're collecting comics and men collected since 2016. So in my time of collecting comics, I've kind of seen this happen.

Speaker 1:

I've seen a boom in the comic industry because of the, the speculation of things in the movies and you know the MCU blowing up and things like that, even though I kind of started collecting at the the tail end of the golden years, I guess you can say of the MCU, but that wave was still going where people wanted to get these first appearances and you know eBay prices going crazy and all this stuff, like all all of this, the all these things spanning on every, all these things blowing up because of speculation. I remember this guy at a shop I used to go to called Fortress of Solitude big ups to those guys over there, but they would talk about the owner there, jose. He would always say, man, I can't wait until the industry crashes. And as a new collector I would just look at him like whoa, like what are you talking about? Like why would you want the industry to crash? And the more I started learning, the more I kind of understood the bombs he was dropping. You know he was saying this because you know comic book shops were having to buy a shitload of books based on speculation, things that they were seeing on YouTube, things that they were seeing on social media websites, and they would buy a whole lot of books and sometimes they wouldn't sell them. So it was like herding the comic book shops, herding the comic book companies like Marvel and DC and things like that the public publishers and it just wasn't looking good.

Speaker 1:

And if you fast forward to now, it really seems like comic books, american comic books, are on the up and up. Now I know it might be too soon to say this, but I feel like we kind of went through our dark ages very quietly. I feel like the dark ages was all of last year and most of 2022, with the whole woke agenda and people leaving the comic book collecting side of just American comics, collected American comics and going to the manga and the anime and all these anime cons popping up and shops kind of changing the way that their stores are organized, where you walk into a shop and you see more like apparel and figures and things like posters and pops and things like that, and all the books are in the back, like comic books were kind of like we take, y'all taking a back seat, you know. And now it feels like things are starting to turn around. It seems like people myself I can I can speak for myself in this but I feel like a lot of other people are starting to really enjoy a lot of the stories that they're reading, even outside of the big two, like with image and IDW and boom studios. Like it feels like more. There seems like it's more stories that are coming out that people are enjoying just for the story and speculation. It's still a little bit relevant, but not so much, you know, not so much. Like I see a lot of comic book shops with slabs and things like that, right with the CGC and CBCS and all these, all these slabs on the wall, and they used to sell like hotcakes and you know this is no disrespect to anybody but I know Isaac was telling me that they had to like kind of sell their slabs for less than what they were really valued for, just so they can get them out of there, you know. So it seems like the dark days are done and the good days are now starting to come back.

Speaker 1:

Like I'm starting to see a lot of different writers getting on books, writers that I've never, even, you know, seen before, or writers that I've seen that haven't been around for a while. I'm starting to see a mixture of guys and female ladies like on artwork, on on storylines, like it just seems like I'm seeing different names a lot, and I'm also seeing that a lot of these writers and artists are now getting rid of those exclusive contracts with, like Marvel, and you can only work for Marvel or you can only work for DC. Now, these guys and these ladies are now, or whatever you identify as sorry, that's messed up, but now they are working for multiple companies, like they have stories everywhere, like I'm gonna get into a story later but this guy is. This guy is killing it at DC right now and he just put out a freaking awesome story with image comics and I'm seeing that more frequently. Like, I know a lot of people don't like to mention John Ridley, but he was someone that I noticed that was writing for Marvel and DC at the same time and now he's writing for his ministry of compliance, coming off for image. I think it's coming off for image, but it's one of the end, one of the top indie companies, but I think it's image.

Speaker 1:

But you know, and now I'm seeing like people like Jason Aaron writing, who was big time at Marvel, like doing everything for them, and now he now he's writing a story for he's doing a Batman like outer world story or whatever or other world story, and now he's also going to be, I think, he's doing Ninja Turtles, like he's like he's expanding his storytelling abilities now and I love that. I love the freedom that these writers are starting to get and I also love that there are ended more independent companies starting to get on the rise, and I wanted to talk about this years ago that I felt like in the indie comics we're going to start taking over the, the, the walls or the tables at your local comic book shop and it seems like that's starting to happen. But overall, like we're getting a lot of different good quality stories, that and I'm not hearing a lot of people bitching and moaning either. You know, let me just say that I'm not hearing a lot of people bitching and moaning about woke this and woke that and gender equality this and gender equality that. Like maybe I'm just not seeing that shit on my on my social media websites and stuff like that. I mean, even I'm only on one, but I'm not. I'm not seeing that, I'm not seeing on YouTube.

Speaker 1:

Maybe their voices are finally starting to get quiet, you know, because at the end of the day, it's like people should be able to enjoy whatever the hell they want to enjoy. Like it's not up to you to control what the comic book companies put out. I know a lot of you think you have the power to do that, but I'm sorry y'all don't. You don't the comic book industry? I mean the comic book companies are going to put out whatever the hell they feel like, putting out whatever market they feel that they can tap into. It's not about you, it's about their dollar. But lately it seems like Maybe they have heard a lot of the criticism and I don't think the criticism was only on the woke shit, I think the criticism was on this is just not a good story.

Speaker 1:

It's just not a good story. Like you guys are not telling good stories. These crossover events are getting out of control. Like they're not good stories. Let's put out good stories. I don't give a damn who the story is about. I don't give a damn what the character looks like. I don't care. I don't care if it's a man, a woman, a he, a she, they, I don't care. But if the story is good, you will get my money. They weren't doing that, but lately, late last year, it Seems like that is happening. Like we're getting stories like the inner John universe.

Speaker 1:

Who the hell would have thought a mere Dwayne Wanzi that's my middle name, aka the black podcaster would be enjoying a damn Duke from GI Joe story? Who would have thought I would have been enjoying freaking cobra? Who would have thought I would be reading a trans former story like what Me? No, no. But these stories are good, man. These stories are good. Kill the dolphin universe is is amazing. Another one, let me tell you. Who would have thought that a mere aka the black podcaster would be enjoying white spider-man? My goodness, I've read ultimate spider-man again, issue one again, and it is amazing. It's amazing. I Gotta give it up to him. You know, hickman did a great job on that. I have. I have never Picked up anything with Peter Parker. I mean, obviously I watched the cartoon as a kid. You know cool, I saw all the movies, fantastic. But Miles is my guy. You know I'm saying Miles Morales is my spider-man, so I never got into Peter.

Speaker 1:

When I started collecting comics I got into Miles. Like that was little Miles. Volume Three about volume three was the first Miles or spider spider-man book I ever picked up and I Enjoyed it so much that I went back to go find out what, what his rest of his story was. You know, shout out to JT. He helped me get some of those books. He helped me hunt down, hunt down some of those books. He even bought some of those books for me. I mean, I paid him back, but he bought some of those books for me when he was seeing them on eBay and I flipped through all of those books. You know, like I read, I read the first like six issues of volume, one digitally, but then I started finally getting the actual back issues.

Speaker 1:

Miles has been my dude. I have Different crossover stories, different team-ups. Miles is my guy. Peter Parker is not my guy, but Damnit, johnathan Hickman got your boy reading white spider-man, god talk. So you know, to me that's another great universe. Right now, though, the new ultimate universe is awesome. You know we're getting blade. You know we got I'm reading. I'm reading a, a John Stuart book. Like I'm reading so many good books and I don't think people are really talking about this like there's a lot of good books coming out With some serious, serious writers and some serious artists on them, I Gotta go to the shop, probably month tomorrow or Monday.

Speaker 1:

I Like I said I'm recording some Saturday, I gotta go to the shop. No, I'm not gonna go Monday. Monday is my wedding anniversary, so damn the comic book shop. So I might go tomorrow, but I Gotta go pick up Red Hood the Hill. You know Safford green doing covers for that. He's doing some pages on that.

Speaker 1:

The the writer. I'm not familiar with the writer. I've never actually Read anything of his before. His name is Sean Sean Martin Berg. I'm not very familiar with any of his work. Let's see. Let me see if he's written anything else. Oh, wow, he wrote on a shadow cabinet, is that so? Is that? Is that real? I'm reading it, I'm looking at this. On the comic books, he did some static stuff. Okay. So this guy DMZ I have some DMZ. I'm not had a trade at there. I think I actually sold that trade, but okay, so he's been around for a while. Wait, he did far. He didn't do far sector. That's not true. Maybe he consulted or something. But anyway, sean Martin Berg, he's been around for a while. I've never heard of this guy and he's got a book coming out for DC. Like that's what I'm saying, like we're finally getting other writers, you know, getting some exposure. So that's what I'm really loving about comics.

Speaker 1:

Right now, people are sleeping. You know. I'm not hearing a lot of talk about this. I'm not hearing a lot of talk that comic books, american comic books, are actually making a comeback. These writers are serious. These, these companies are serious. So we got to keep getting these books. We got to keep supporting our comic book shops. We got to keep getting these pre-orders in. Hopefully, you know nothing goes on with the distribution centers getting the books to us, because apparently there was a problem with a book that came out this past week. We'll talk about it in Reads of the Week. But, yes, man, hopefully you guys are really out there getting these books and checking them out and really like thinking about it, like Things have changed since you know, a couple years ago, where it was a lot of woke this, woke that, and it's like it's changing for the better. So, yeah, we'll take a quick break here and we'll come back and we'll do some reads of the week after this and we're back. We're back at it, man. Hopefully you guys got something to drink, got something to eat. We're ready to dive into more comic book talk, but we're gonna be a little bit more specific Because it's time for Reads of the week. Baby, you heard him. You heard what he said.

Speaker 1:

This is an opportunity for me to talk about some of the books that I've read Over the week. If you are new to the channel, this is, this is when we break down some comics, we do a little spoiler talk and if you're not new, you know that I haven't been reading a whole lot like. I've been very kind of picky with my books, but somehow I'm still in the nut with a whole lot of books and that they're all freaking good. So I don't really have. I don't have a lot of books for this week, but I have. I got some stuff I got to pick up. But the first book I want to kick it off with is this book called the one hand. All right, so this is by Ram V, all right, this is what I was talking about earlier. Who's been doing a bang-up job over there with detective comics. I haven't read all of detective comics. I do have volume one. What I've read so far has been Very good, but I was late to the party on that. So, knowing what people have been saying about Ram V on detective comics, I think Ram V did a little time on Swamp thing. So, knowing what people were saying about him, I did not want to miss out on this new series that he's doing, called the one hand. But so, real quick.

Speaker 1:

This story is about how this there's an older detective is. This takes like place like super far, far in the future, like like 2088 or something like that, like way way far in the future, and I think the city is called like Neo Novada, novada or something like that. I'll have the book in front of me right now, but let me see. So, yeah, nia, nia, nia, no Vina, nia, no, vina. And the detective, his name is airy. He's about to retire, you know, long time on the force, he's done some great work.

Speaker 1:

The night of his retirement someone gets murdered, and it looks like the same MO as a serial killer that he put away in jail not once, but twice. So the first time he put this person away, you know it was highly celebrated, people loved him for what he did. And Then, like three years later, the same type of murders started happening. They he was kind of leaving like this little Print or whatever on the wall that he was, that the up, that that that was done before. Turns out that that person was Not the same guy, but it was someone else taking up the mantle of this murderer. Okay, so Fast-forward to this case here. It pretty much is the same MO, but he's seeing some things that are, looking at, might a little bit different in the, in the sign off or the signature that he leaves on the wall, and he believes that it's not any of the same guys at this point. So this is like one of those murder mystery cases I love, like detective murder mystery stories like this.

Speaker 1:

I'm not really sure how many issues. This is right, but I do know that this is a very interesting story because there is another side to this story and it's called the Six Fingers. Right now, the Six Fingers is actually Going to be coming out, I believe, this month, sometime this month in February, but I it's going to be written by Dan wagers. Now, this is somebody that works with Ram V a lot. They've done some stuff together in the past. I think they work together on detective comics and and this story, this Six Fingers story, is actually going to be telling the story of the serial killer, this new serial killer, so it's gonna. So there's two. Two stories are two Points of view for the same story. So in the one hand, we're going to be getting the point of view of the detective. In the Six Fingers we're going to be getting the point of view of the serial killer. I think that that's super dope. Like I said, comics are starting to do something. They're starting to make their little comeback and this is a really creative way to get people interested in your story.

Speaker 1:

I haven't heard a lot of people talking about this story and I hope that you're able to actually get a copy of it. Hopefully you didn't miss out, because this is actually a really well-written story, is super dark, like that new R feel like it's really dope and there's some weird like Some weird stuff going on in the future According to Ram V. Let's just say that, some really weird stuff going on. Let's just say not everybody is Human. Let's just say that. But yeah, this was a really dope story.

Speaker 1:

I really enjoyed this. You know, I sat down and read it twice and I really liked it. So hopefully you guys go check this out. But yeah, with that say, I got one more story that I want to talk about Before we get into the breakdown, which we're not. I'm not gonna take long on, it's gonna be real quick. But Black Panther, the ultimate Black Panther man, you guys know it, you saw it, everybody loved it. It's an amazing first issue. Well, not everybody loved that. I saw some people kind of talking shit about it, saying like it's not any different than than what we saw In any other black panther, like you know all that type of shit. You know all the ultimate spider-man was. It was a totally different story, okay, but Black Panther has not been very good for a while. So I completely understand the excitement for the story that we got, because it was a hell of a story. Brian Overhill, hell of a writer.

Speaker 1:

The artwork by Kaselli she, let me get that man around with us. So I don't know how you did that artwork so well, but clearly you have black friends, clearly, because Black Panther looked like a brother from Philly, let me tell you my man had to fade with the Philly beard. He was matter of fact. You know he looked like. He looked like a more in shape, cool version of Dr Umar Johnson. I ain't gonna lie, the beard was looking nice. So I really appreciate the artwork and the new designs of the clothing and things like that. The more updated look. He did a really good job with the art and like outstanding.

Speaker 1:

And then back to Brian Overhill. Like the storyline that he set or the story that he put in place in this adventure that he's going to take us on, for I already saw that a trade is coming out in like July or something like that, or August. It's only going to have four issues in there, so I'm not really sure how long this is going, but if it only goes for four to eight issues, uh huh. Get all that work, get all that work. Marvel, y'all better put this thing out longer than that. Like, I really hope this ultimate universe last longer than you know. Four issues or whatever. I think the Spider-Man once put is due out in September and I think that's like five issues or six issues are going to be in that trade. But I'm really hoping this lasts a long time, because Brian Overhill is doing an excellent job on Blade was just we're going to say that we're going to leave that over there.

Speaker 1:

But what he set up in this story with to child's father spoiler alert we're going to spoil this tonight with the child's father getting killed in this book by someone new, by someone that looks like him you know what I'm saying Like one of his own. This ain't claw killing his son or killing his father in front of him. All right, they say. They say that this is actually a suicide bomber who looks like they could be part of the tribe. You know what I'm saying. Taking was trying to take out to Chala actually, or both of them actually, but to child's father saved him. You know we're seeing a different side of to child. We're getting great dialogue. We were getting great dialogue between his father and himself and to child, but about what is what it is to be a king, you know, as setting him up for basically a civil war is coming, which was something that it seemed like John really was setting up in the beginning of his story, and then somehow we started getting buffalo soldiers and a white clown, I don't know. I don't know, I don't know. I stopped reading that shit after like issue five.

Speaker 1:

But he also set up, like, some new relationships. Well, one relationship we know for sure is to Chala and a coye. He's now married to her and let me tell you, her character design is fly. She got the dreadlocks flopping over the side of the face. A little short buzz cut on like it's dope, super dope. So they have an interesting relationship. You know that she's down for him, she's got his back and supports him.

Speaker 1:

But they sleep in separate beds and I know a lot of people were like, oh, why did he do that? Like, if they're in love, they should be in this, in, in in the same bed together. Listen, most of y'all that was complaining not even married. Number one, number two, nine times out of 10. When you sleep, you ain't sleeping on top of each other anyway, you, so one might be curled up in a ball in one corner, the other one snoring flat on their back, like, is it who cares? You know what I'm saying. Like who cares, I'm sure. Like if you slept in separate beds with your partner, I'm sure that whenever it's time to do the, do you're going to do. You know what I'm saying. So that didn't bother me as much as it did everybody else.

Speaker 1:

And then we also got an introduction to Eric Killmonger, who seems like he might be a man of the people, a little bit more than T'Challa. Maybe I was reading into it wrong, but T'Challa seemed like he was more hesitant to go defend his people and sure, he kind of tried to put him in his place a little bit, but didn't, didn't really work like she wanted to. But it seems like Killmonger is more down with the people that are not in the kingdom city, you know, the, the city of Wakanda, like they're not there. They're like these different tribes that are on their own. And the reason why I say that is because there was an attack on a smaller city or a smaller tribe by a character is. I guess they're twins, but it's basically Moon Knight essentially, and they were. The people were kind of protected by Killmonger and someone who looks like Storm he didn't call her Storm, but someone who we all know is Storm. I mean, if you got the boss logic cover, I mean, come on, so we already know who that is.

Speaker 1:

But all in all, I would give this story like eight out of 10, nine out of 10. And the only reason why I'm not giving it a 10 out of 10 is because I would have loved for it to have been as a little bit longer, maybe because it feels like the ultimate Spider-Man book was a little bit thicker. I could be wrong, but that book, from what I can remember, it, felt heavier. I'll go, I'll go, you know, hold him side by side, but I feel like that book was a little bit thicker, and I. But the thing is with Brian, never the way he tells his stories, man, and this is why the story was so dope to me. Like he gets to the point. You know, zayn, like he don't do all that bullshitting. You know, zayn, like he don't do all that bullshit dialogue like the dialogue that you're going to get in a Brian Everhill story is straight to the point. I don't got time to play with y'all. Here's the story. I got to go. You know what I'm saying. But it always hits like I've been a Brian Everhill fan probably since the end of my first year of collecting comics and he's just an awesome writer. He's an awesome writer Anytime I see his name on anything I pick it up. He's like my, he's like my other, he's like one beat to Ronnie Barnes, one A.

Speaker 1:

So if you did not get a chance to pick this up, I'm sorry because apparently the distribution centers lost a lot of books, apparently cover eight, and then on eBay the books is gone for like $25. So it's something weird going on with this. A lot of, a lot of comic book shops got their books damaged and apparently the book went to second print or is going to second print, but it was before the book came out. So all these people ordered these. This number one was going to second print, but a lot of shops didn't get their books, a lot of shops. Apparently books came in damage. So I don't know, some weird stuff going on with this Black Panther issue. But hey, it was an amazing issue. Hopefully you can find it. If you didn't and if you did, you know let's give it a round of applause because great job, great job, great job, great job.

Speaker 1:

So before we get out of here, I just want to say I feel like this is on the breakdown. Let's get to the breakdown. You know what I'm saying. Let's get to the breakdown. So I got to say this before I go. Madam Webb is coming out next week. I don't know if y'all know this. I just saw the other day that is coming out next week and I completely forgot and I totally do not care.

Speaker 1:

Apparently they are holding back the reviews. They're not allowing people to redo the reviews on this book, I mean on this movie, because I guess, because it sucks, I don't know but apparently they're not allowing any of the reviews to go up until like the day before the movie comes out and tickets still aren't selling. And it kind of confuses me a little bit, because you see a lot of movies and a lot of TV shows get like cancelled or Shut down. Production shut down because the, the company doesn't think that the movie is any good or the show is any good. I mean, we saw this with Batgirl, right, but Sony, sony is so stubborn they're still gonna put this movie out. I have a feeling it's gonna flop very big.

Speaker 1:

And I'm not saying it's because who asked for for madam web. I'm saying it because they haven't even promoted the damn movie. I think I've only seen one trailer for the shit and one teaser. I Know they're not gonna spend money on for a trailer for Super Bowl, like I know that's not happening. By the way, go 49ers F, the Kansas City Chiefs. I Said it, I'll give a damn about them. If you know I'm a Broncos fan, don't ask me if I'm cheering for the damn Kansas City Chiefs. It ain't happening. Anyway, I digress. So you know they're not promoting this movie whatsoever. And now they're shutting down the review embargo or holding it off until the night before. That's not good.

Speaker 1:

So, with that said, I think it's time for Sony To give the rights of the Spider-Man universe back to Marvel, give it back to Disney. Y'all not handling it right. Y'all not handling it right, man. Just a couple weeks ago I talked about or was that last week? I think that was last week the mind of a father and a husband. They were just talking about how Marvel wants to go one direction with the Spider-Man stuff and Sony wants to go the whole Multiverse team up way again. So they want to go back to the well again and run that dry. It worked for you once.

Speaker 1:

Don't be a two-trick pony, like there are one trick pony, whatever it is, don't. Don't do it again, please don't. Let's get a grounded story. But it's like they don't even know what to do with their main hero. And on top of that you have fans, kind of like it feels like we're cheering for the guys that are supposed to be bad guys, the guys that Spider-Man is supposed to be beating up and saving the city from. So it's like you got a car Raven the Craven, say Raven Craven the hunter's movie coming out like is he supposed to be an anti-hero? Like what's up with that? Are we setting him up for to be a bad guy? Like we don't know? We don't know shit about this movie.

Speaker 1:

We got another venom movie coming out Venom's cool. You know K loves venom venom school. It's not my favorite, but I would rather see venom going against Spider-Man. We got teased that. We thought something's gonna happen with that. They left some a little bit of symbiote back so we might get black suit Spider-Man, but whatever what else? Who else? We got Morbius, by the way. The same people that wrote Morbius are the people that, right, or that wrote madam web. I'm just saying so. Have fun with that.

Speaker 1:

So it just seems like they have all these pocket universes In one universe and all these pocket universes are supposed to really be tied to Spider-Man, peter Parker, and none of them are. I Think they're still doing a silk either animated series or live-action series on on Amazon. I don't know how that shit ties in. You know, the only thing really that's working for them outside of the Tom Holland, peter Parker, spider-man movies is the, the spider-verse stuff with Miles and all the other spider people, and I think they got one more movie that they're gonna do for that. Yeah, they got one more movie that they're gonna do for that, and I think After these two movies come out, you know, the last Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and the last inch into the spider-verse stuff comes out, I think Sony needs to go ahead and hand the keys back over to Marvel for their flagship character, because they just they're not handling it right and it's making a lot of people, a lot of people, angry.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, that's my thoughts on that. Sony, give it up, you're done, it's over.
